About Us

The Education Trust is a sub-committee of the NEC (National Executive Council). The initial fund of this trust was from the munificence of individuals and the proceeds of sale of our Mombasa community building. On 1st December 1976, Devshibhai Jaman Chandegra donated R100,000 (one hundred thousand Rupees) to SSPC (UK) to start an Education Trust for the benefit of poor students in India. The NEC approved this and thereafter THE EDUCATION TRUST was established. It was set up with its own guidelines and a separate legal constitution registered in Ahmedabad, India.

SSPC (UK) Education Trust was formally registered in Ahmedabad , India on 26/9/1979 under Registration Number A/2607. This was done by a committee appointed by the NEC (National Executive Committee) – SSPC (UK), under the leadership of Mohanbhai Malde Taank.

The Trust is set up in a Fixed Deposit Account in India and the interest is distributed as educational grant to poor students in India. Collection of Funds is done by the 11 Branches of SSPC (UK) and managed and distributed by appointed Education Trustees in UK and India.

To date, the funds have been distributed to an average 200 students year on year. They are given upon satisfactory application to students above Standard 12 on a pro rata basis and per level of education. The distribution and administration of the Education Trust Fund has been managed smoothly since its registration by the Education Trustees in UK and India and all their efforts are worthy of the highest commendation.
